Alas, the weather is yet to pick up here in the UK still – even with Spring just around the corner! With fine drizzle, heavy rain and in some places, snow, the roads can be a treacherous and dangerous place to be.

The super comfy, modern cars we're fortunate enough to own and drive do very much desensitise us from the road conditions, but ultimately, we're responsible for changing our driving style in these situations. We also all have the responsibility to ensure our vehicles are safe and fit to drive.
If you do have to venture out in sub-optimum conditions, then be sure to allow some extra time for your journey. Check your route before you leave, and ideally, plan your journey along major roads as they’re more likely to be gritted and clear from snow and ice. Ensure the car’s fluids are topped up – oil, coolant, and washer fluid, and check you have more than enough fuel for the journey. Lastly, we want to make sure that our contact with the road is maximised so check your tyre treads and pressure too.
Prevention is always better than cure, but sometimes luck does run against us. If the untoward does happen, then we need to respond swiftly and calmy to ensure our well-being.
